About Us

Cima Coppi products are handmade and designed in East Vancouver, Canada.

The name Cima Coppi (pronouned CHEE-ma KOh-pee in Italian) comes from professional road bike racing, and specifically the Giro D’Italia, denoting the highest mountain pass in the race. The ‘Cima’ (mountain peak) is in honor of Fausto Coppi, perhaps the greatest Italian racer of all time and a man who had a vision for great achievements.

Since 2008, here at Cima Coppi we have aimed to integrated sustainability strategies into the design, manufacture and distribution of cycle wear as no one has done it before. With virtually every aspect of production executed in our first hub studio in East Vancouver, we do not rely on exploitative outsourced labour.

Our use of off-cut and reclaimed materials reduces our sourcing of new textiles and the animal handling involved in textile production. We ship locally by bicycle and offset our current international carbon emissions. No item we make travels, from source to rider, further than half the distance from Vancouver to Australia – the latter being the worlds largest producer of merino. And we are working hard to reduce that distance everyday unless you ride it further, which we hope you do.

Our long term goal is to transfer ideas and to localize production, manufacturing within several hubs, because ideas can move carbon free. We have not only had a positive impact on the economy, but also the Vancouver community, in which we live. We believe that the business case for sustainability is a compelling and necessary one, and that sustainable business can move us toward a future we want to ride in.
